The Los Angeles Dodgers look to rebound from a three-game losing streak with the added services of second baseman Brian Dozier.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have already welcomed all-star infielder Manny Machado to Chavez Ravine. On Wednesday, Dodger fans get to see the newest Dodger, Brian Dozier, in action in the starting lineup.

Dozier was acquired by the Dodgers from the Minnesota Twins for Logan Forsythe, Luke Raley and Devin Smeltzer. While he is a rental and is in a down year, he is an upgrade from Forsythe and was a pretty cheap trade acquisition.

Dozier is batting in the five-hole to begin his Dodger career.

Hopefully the Dodgers can end the current three-game skid and can help our Beat the Streak hitting streaks in the process. It is pretty hard to successful pick who is going to get a base hit when the entire team only musters two hits on the night.

Luckily, I picked one of the two people to get a base knock last night and actually picked the first one to get their hit, Yasiel Puig. While his single was nothing special, it was enough to extend my streak. Finally some good fortune?

Sarah, who had a five-game hitting streak on the line, went with Yasmani Grandal. Grandal was not in the starting lineup and stuck out in his lone pinch-hit appearance.

Sarah’s pick — Current streak 0: Brian Dozier

My pick for today is none other than the newest Dodger, Brian Dozier. This trade was absolutely perfect on behalf of the Dodgers.

Though, of course, I will miss the leadership and experience that Logan Forsythe brought to the team, Dozier the second baseman the Dodgers need right now. Though tonight’s starter for Milwaukee is Chase Anderson, a righty, I wouldn’t be surprised to find Dozier in either the starting lineup or coming in the game off of the bench.

Dozier isn’t a typical slugger, per say, but he has hit 16 homers this season and has really boosted that Twins offense. Now, he wears Dodger blue, and boy are we happy to have him.

C’mon, who else was I going to select? If the headline of this article was not enough of an indication, Sarah picking Dozier should have given it away.

Sarah and I rarely go with the same pick but last time we did was with Manny Machado in his Dodger Stadium debut. That worked out great for us both as Machado hit his first home in his new home ballpark.

Tonight, I am attempting to capture lightning in a bottle twice in one week. Hopefully, Dozier also hits his first home run at his new home in his Dodger Stadium debut.

If not, a base hit is more than fine to extend our streaks. I have been unable to get anything going, I must capitalize on the small amount of momentum I currently have.
