The Los Angeles Dodgers look to win the second game in a row against the Milwaukee Brewers after Yasmani Grandal walked it off last night.

The Los Angeles Dodgers win over the Milwaukee Brewers last night was a breath of fresh air. Offensively, the Dodgers have been struggling recently — until Brain Dozier arrived.

Trading for Brian Dozier was a move that seemed to be two years too late and was massively overshadowed by Manny Machado. However, it was Dozier and catcher Yasmani Grandal that went back-to-back to go from hitless to tied in the matter of two pitches.

Five innings later, Grandal stepped to the plate with Matt Kemp on first base in the tenth inning and delivered a rocket into the right-field seats to give the Dodgers’ their first walk-off home run win since Charlie Culberson‘s division-clinching walk-off in 2016.

Luckily, both of us selected Brian Dozier with our Beat the Streak selections, which extended both of our streaks. Sarah and I rarely get right selections on the same night (mostly because of me) so last night was a win on all fronts.

Sarah’s pick — Current streak 1: Brian Dozier

My pick for tonight is the same guy I went with last night, Brian Dozier. Dozier had a wild debut in LA and boy did he deserve that curtain call.

Dozier is exactly the guy the Dodgers need right now. Manny Machado is, of course, an extremely valuable addition to this lineup but, can you ever have too much offense.

Dozier’s grand welcome at Dodger Stadium last night sparked the rally that ended with a Grandal walk-off home run and I can’t wait to see what he does next.

Jason’s pick — Current streak 3:

I am going with the bat that is returning from the disabled list tonight, Justin Turner. Turner has battled health all season long and has not had a Justin Turner-type year. However, with a newly stacked lineup that includes both Machado and Dozier, a healthy Turner is going to have a lot of fun.

The Dodgers are facing southpaw Jhoulys Chacin, who the team has seen often due to his eight-year tenure in the NL West with the Rockies, Diamondbacks and Padres.

Turner is 6-18 off Chacin in his lifetime with three doubles and four RBIs. Turner is going to extend that success tonight and make his presence known in the lineup.
