Los Angeles Rams: Five Madden 19 player ratings that are wrong
By Jason Reed
RB Todd Gurley — Rating: 92
To be fair, a 92 rating is really good, especially when it comes to running backs. While there are some very highly rated running backs, Gurley is up there in the elite class of backs heading into next season.
With a 92 rating, Gurley is tied for the third-best overall among running backs. Leading the way is Le’Veon Bell with a 96 rating and David Johnson with a 93 rating. Alongside Gurley with a 92 rating is Ezekiel Elliott; Devonta Freeman and LeSean McCoy round out the class of 90s with a 91 and 90, respectively.
I hate to nitpick when the Madden team actually have Gurley one of the best ratings among his position. However, Gurley was, without question, the best running back in the league last season.
Gurley was so good that he won the Offensive Player of the Year award, received MVP votes alongside Tom Brady and was the only player to eclipse 2000 yards from scrimmage.
The fourth-year back is primed to take over the title of best running back in football and may do so very soon from Bell. While Bell should still be regarded as the king of the running back position, Gurley could certainly take that title with another great season.
I do not think that Gurley yet deserves to be the best running back in the game and should not be on the game level as Bell. However, he definitely should be the second-highest rated back.
