1. Rajon Rondo is going to look the best he has in the regular season since his tenure with the Boston Celtics

Statistically, Rajon Rondo may not ever regain his form with the Boston Celtics. Rondo was one of the best point guards in the entire league while he was with Boston and it is hard to recapture that with father time knocking on your door. Plus, with Lonzo Ball also sharing minutes, Rondo is not going to get nearly enough minutes to produce those kinds of numbers.

However, it is going to be the split in minutes along with Ball himself that creates the best Rondo we have seen since he was a Celtic.

While his overall averages will not reach the same level, we are going to see the elite Rondo come out a lot over the course of next season. Not only is he going to compete with the other team, he is competing with a young guard in Ball that is very similar to him in terms of play style.

Plus, Rondo is playing on a true contender for the first time since the big three days in Boston. While the Bulls and Pelicans both made the playoffs, neither team was expected to do much.

And while the Lakers likely won’t overcome the Warriors, this team has the best chance of any team that Rondo has played on post-Boston.

It also helps to have the best player on the planet, LeBron James, to share a locker room with. Rondo thrived around other stars such as Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Anthony Davis and LeBron is better than all three.
