Houston Rockets @ Los Angeles Lakers, Oct. 20, 2018 — ESPN

Los Angeles Lakers’ fans are going to have to wait until the second game of the season to see LeBron James play on his new home court in the Staples Center. Fans will already get a preview of LeBron and the Lakers as the team opens the season in Portland against the Trail Blazers.

This game is obviously on the list as it is LeBron’s first game at home as a member of the Lakers. Right away, it is going to be an interesting dynamic to see how the crowd is going to react to LeBron, especially during introductions.

Most fans love that James is now on the Lakers and is going to cheer him emphatically in his home debut. However, there is that small pocket of fans that do not approve the James signing and instead opt to remain in the Kobe Bryant fanhood.

Regardless, not only is this game going to be televised it is going to be a great game as James and company take on James Harden, Chris Paul and the Rockets.

The Rockets were one game away from playing James in the NBA Championship and arguably would have made it if Paul didn’t go down with a hamstring injury. Not only is this game going to be a feeler for James in LA, it is going to test the Lakers early to see how the team hangs with the NBA’s elite.
