Los Angeles Lakers @ Cleveland Cavaliers, Nov 21, 2018 — ESPN

Another ESPN televised game makes the cut as LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers make the once a year trip to the city of Cleveland to square off against the Cavaliers.

This obviously does not need any explaining. James is returning to Quicken Loans Arena for the first time since making the decision to join the Los Angeles Lakers this summer. Last time James made a decision to go enjoy South Beach, the Cavaliers’ faithful burned James’ jerseys and welcomed him with nothing but boos in his return to his hometown.

This time, it is going to be a little different. While Cavaliers fans obviously don’t like seeing James in the purple and gold, there is going to be more of a sense of appreciation than a sense of betrayal.

James brought the championship that had alluded the city for over a half century, making true of his promise to the team when he came back home from the Heat.

Plus, this move was not a move to ring chase, like the move to Miami was. This was more of a lifestyle move for James and his family. With the current status of the team, most fans understand why James wanted a change of scenery.

He literally put the entire city on his back last season and carried a broken down Cavaliers team to the NBA Finals to try and give Cleveland one more title. While the Cavs ultimately got swept, one J.R. Smith blunder could have changed that entire season.

I think LeBron is going to be welcomed with open arms in Cleveland. It would be a shame if he wasn’t after all he has done for the city on and off the court.
