2. Joey Bosa will lead the league in sacks

Joey Bosa was not far off from the league lead in sacks last season and will finally hit that mark next season. While having Ingram on the field definitely can reduce the number of sacks Bosa tallies, it also opens the door for Bosa to get to the quarterback more frequently.

Plus, Bosa is going to have more help behind him than ever before to help accomplish this feat. Bosa alone is already great, Bosa with players that are actively helping his cause is a scary thing for opposing quarterbacks.

First and foremost, second-round pick Uchenna Nwosu is likely going to be coming off the edge a lot for the Chargers, adding another man for the offensive line to pick up on Bosa’s side. While the emphasis will obviously be on Bosa, if Nwosu thrives, it is only going to open more lanes for Bosa to explode through.

Second, the team added a great lockdown asset in the secondary in Derwin James. James has made the already great secondary even better and is going to lead to fewer receivers getting open deep due to his speed and agility.

With that in mind, not only is Bosa going to get more lanes to get to the quarterback, he is going to have slightly longer to do so.

Plus, he is going to undergo the natural improvements that happen to a young player in the league. Thus, Bosa will jump from seventh to first on the NFL sacks list.
