1. Todd Gurley will have less receiving yards but more rushing yards

When it is all said and done, that 2,000 yards from scrimmage mark should be exactly where Gurley has his sights and will most likely be where he lands. While he could come up slightly short, he is just too versatile to not at least come close to this upcoming season.

However, it will be a split that favors the running game more than the passing game. Last season, Gurley was one of the best receiving running backs if football. This year, although the threat is obviously still there, we are going to see more yards on the ground opposed to in the air.

Gurley finished with 788 receiving yards, good enough for the second-most among running backs behind Alvin Kamara‘s 826 receiving yards. That went with Gurley’s 1,305 rushing yards, also good enough for the second-most among running backs. Kareem Hunt took home the rushing title with 1,327 rushing yards.

With new targets in Brandin Cooks and existing targets in Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp only getting better, Goff is likely going to be targeting Gurley less on designed passing plays.

However, after Gurley’s success last season, the team is likely going to be handing the ball off more to the back than finding him in the passing game. Plus, if he stays healthy, Gurley will get a full 16-game season in opposed to sitting out week 17 as he did last year.

1,500 rushing yards seems to be a good target for Gurley with at least 500 receiving yards. Easily doable.
