2. Todd Gurley will finish with 20 or more rushing touchdowns

The added emphasis of running the ball with Todd Gurley is going to obviously give the back more results in his fourth season. With this in mind, Gurley is going to find the end zone not only more frequently but more frequently as a runner.

Last season, Gurley had 19 total touchdowns — 13 were rushing and six were receiving. He is obviously already flirting with that 20 number. Next season, he will not only hit 20 touchdowns but will do so exclusively on the ground.

No running back has hit 20 rushing touchdowns since the 2006 season, where LaDainian Tomlinson rushed for an NFL-record 28 touchdowns. While Gurley may not quite reach that mark, his game and the offense he is in is similar to that Chargers offense from 2006. Thus, the 20 mark seems to be a realistic thing to set his sights on.

All Gurley needs to do is average a touchdown per game and get two touchdowns in a quarter of the Rams’ 16 games. That is more than possible, especially if the offense does indeed rely on him as heavily as expected.

Gurley had four multi-touchdown games last season and even rushed for three against the Seattle Seahawks. All he has to do is remove those goose eggs and 20 becomes an easy target.
