Los Angeles Lakers: Which Lakers are among LeBron’s best teammates?
By Jason Reed
Point guard:
1. Kyrie Irving
Kyrie Irving obviously had to be the best-rated point guard that James has played with in his career. Irving did hit the game-winning shot to give LeBron his lone championship in Cleveland and likely would have helped the Cavaliers win the year before if not for injury.
While it is a shame that the Irving-James partnership came to an abrupt end last offseason, Irving is still easily the best point guard that LeBron has ever played with.
2. Mo Williams
I was not initially planning on including Mo Williams in this list but the list of quality point guards that LeBron has played with are slim. While there are guys like Mario Chalmers, he doesn’t quite make the cut.
Williams was the second-best player on the Cavaliers in the two seasons he spent with LeBron before he left for South Beach. Then, when LeBron returned, so did Williams. He played one more season in Cleveland and scored over eight points off the bench to help Cleveland win the title.
3. Lonzo Ball
Lonzo Ball clocks in as the third-best point guard that James has played with and rightfully so. Ball gets a bad rep for his lack of scoring but is such a huge producer everywhere, which makes the criticism strange.
Some may say he does not belong on this list ahead of Chalmers but Ball presents LeBron the opportunity to play more off-ball as Ball facilitates the offense. Not only is he a help in that regard, he is an all-around asset that will only get better.
