With some key new additions, the Los Angeles Rams have one of the deepest rosters in all of football. Here is how that roster compares internally.

The Los Angeles Rams were already one of the youngest and most promising teams in the league. Instead of just sitting on that gold mine of talent, the Rams front office decided to act swiftly to capitalize on the team’s title window.

Thus, the Rams added three big-name Pro Bowlers in Marcus Peters, Aqib Talib and Ndamukong Suh and a wide receiver that likely will be a Pro Bowler in Brandin Cooks; who has over 3,000 yards receiving in each of the last three seasons.

Now, the Rams present a roster that is above the league average in almost every sense. With an impressive LA counterpart in the Los Angeles Chargers as well, we decided to rank each roster internally — each position group challenging each other.

Bottom two:

10. Linebackers

The Los Angeles Rams’ linebacker core does have room to grow and could be better than projected next season. However, the Rams undoubtedly got worse at linebacker last season from a core that was already average at best.

It was necessary due to scheme fits and monetary implications but the Los Angeles Rams had to part ways with Alec Ogletree, Connor Barwin and Robert Quinn in the offseason. With no huge additions to the linebacker core, it is going to serve as a position that is continuously trying to prove its worth next season.

9. Tight end

The Los Angeles Rams are not terrible at the linebacker position. However, when you compare the two tight ends the Rams have to offer, it is obvious that the position is much farther down on the totem pole than the rest of the roster.

The Rams have a two player mix of 2016 fourth-round pick Tyler Higbee and 2017 second-round pick Gerald Everett. Together, the two players will likely have 700 or so receiving yards and five or so touchdowns.

Not great numbers, but if you consider the two as one, it is not all that bad, either. However, in a roster that is so rich in talent, the tight ends remain in the bottom two.
