True Freshman Dorian Thompson-Robinson looks to win the starting quarterback job for the UCLA Football Bruins and here is why that is a great choice.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson should be the UCLA Football Bruins starting quarterback. I believe this because he fits what Chip Kelly needs in his offense by being a dual-threat quarterback.

Last year at Bishop Gorman High School In Las Vegas, he led the Gaels to the Nevada state title. Thompson-Robinson threw for 3,725 yards, 38 touchdowns and just three interceptions. He also rushed for 426 yards with seven touchdowns in his first year starting,

Thompson-Robinson is a dual-threat quarterback that does not look for the run first. He has a strong arm and can make many throws down the field. With his legs, he can extend plays, which adds into big-play opportunities.

The pressure did not make Thompson-Robinson take off and run; he would look to make plays down the field first with his arm. Excelling in both areas in something most quarterbacks cannot do, however, he can hurt opposing defenses in any way he likes.

Wide receiver Theo Howard likes what he sees out of Thompson-Robinson. Per the Los Angeles Times, Howard said the following about Thompson-Robinson.

"“I definitely think he looks mature beyond his years. He’s out there making great decisions.”"

One of the most critical factors about Thompson-Robinson is his confidence and the ability to lead a team. His skill set obviously gives him that swagger and confidence, which will be a huge much-needed boost to the UCLA Football Bruins.

Thompson-Robinson is the perfect fit for Chip Kelly’s read-option offense. He has all the factors to be successful in the UCLA offense: the ability to run and the ability to pass the ball down the field with accuracy.

Since Chip Kelly is rebuilding, the UCLA Football program, it only makes sense that Kelly chooses a starting quarterback that perfectly fits his offensive mold as well as one that can grow with the program.

Like his ability to dominate with both his legs and his arm, Thompson-Robinson truly is the best of both worlds.
