The Los Angeles Lakers may have struck gold this summer in free agency, however, next summer is just as appealing for Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Lakers landed the biggest star in the NBA in LeBron James this summer. Following James, Los Angeles made sure to keep the rest of the offseason additions exclusively on one-year contracts.

That opened up a decent amount of salary cap space next offseason. After buying out Luol Deng, the Lakers now have $41.7 million in practical cap space —per Spotrac.

That is enough to bring in a max superstar to play alongside LeBron James as well as key depth pieces to round out the roster.

Everybody knows the big name free agents the Los Angeles Lakers will target, let’s take a look at a few under the radar free agents that also could help the Lakers.

Danny Green — SG

Danny Green would be a nice pick up for the Lakers because he is your typical three and D guy. He would be able to stretch the floor and give LeBron James and Lonzo Ball space to work with his ability to shoot the three.

Green is a 39 percent three-point shooter. He is also a solid defender, Green has size and can defend three positions if need be, something that is valuable in today’s NBA.

Nikola Mirotic — PF

Nikola Mirotic is your classic stretch four but he also can take you off the dribble. He also runs the floor pretty well, which could lead to open three-pointers on the break. Mirotic would be a nice pick and pop player, with his ability to shoot the three. The Lakers could use his 15 points and seven rebounds per game.

Alec Burks — SG

Alec Burks is a player I like for the Lakers. Burks is a very athletic guy, who can handle the ball and defend. He can be a slasher as well as a combo guard.

Burks was finally able to shake off some of past injuries to play in 60 plus games and the playoffs. He has improved on his shooting a bit, but he still has ways to go before he becomes a consistent three-point shooter.

Burks on defense has quick feet and can use his hands well. You can never have too many defenders.

Marcus Morris — F

I like Marcus Morris. He can shoot the three, rebound and is an adamant defender. He can guard on the perimeter as well the post. Morris will never back down to a challenge and he would bring the Lakers much needed toughness. Morris shot 36 percent from three, which is decent.

Next. Why Klay Thompson is LA's best target. dark

Every player I mentioned could bring something significant to the Lakers. Whether it’s shooting or defense, you have to have role players that can knock down shots and defend.
