Los Angeles Chargers: Last minute score predictions for Chargers-Bills
By Jason Reed
After a gut-wrenching loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 1, the Los Angeles Chargers travel east to face the Buffalo Bills.
Last season, the Los Angeles Chargers‘ defense gave one of the most memorable performances of the year against the Buffalo Bills. The Chargers took full advantage of the Bills opting to start Nathan Peterman over Tyrod Taylor.
Los Angeles hauled in five interceptions in the first half alone off Peterman before Taylor played in the second half and limited the damage. The 54-24 loss should have been the dagger in Peterman’s career.
Except it wasn’t and the Bills opted to start Peterman in Week 1 this season. The Baltimore Ravens defeated Buffalo, 47-3.
Now, the Chargers are on the road instead of hosting and the Bills are sending out Josh Allen, the gunslinging rookie that awed many just by his throwing power alone.
While Allen does have a high ceiling, he also has a very low floor. Allen is very green and very susceptible to throwing interceptions. While he is no Nathan Peterman, there is a chance that he could have a Peterman-like performance.
Regardless, the Los Angeles Chargers need a win to move to 1-1 on the season to avoid a disaster start. With the Chiefs playing in Pittsburgh and the Chargers facing the Rams next week, this is a game the Chargers cannot afford to let slip.
Here is how we see the game panning out here at LA Sports Hub.
Jamaal Artis (1-0): 27-13, Chargers
The Chargers got shellacked at home and now have to take the dreaded West Coast team going to the East Coast early morning game.
Lucky for them, they get to play the Buffalo Bills. The Bills will start their rookie QB, Josh Allen. This is a winnable road game; if the Chargers lose they are in big trouble for this season.
Jeremy Bezich (1-0): 34-10, Chargers
Even though this is just Week 2 of the season, this is a must-win for the Chargers. The Bills look like they might be the worst team in the NFL after getting dominated by Baltimore, 47-3, in Week 1.
The Chargers need to show that they can beat the lower end teams. Buffalo will be starting rookie Josh Allen. The defense for Los Angeles needs to show up and have a big day. I think the defense will get a couple of interceptions and the offense will take it from there.
Lamarr Fields (1-0): 35-7, Chargers
The Chargers and Philip Rivers will put up big numbers this weekend. The Bills lack talent and Josh Allen will struggle his first start.
Sarah Maninger (1-0): 21-7, Bills
Last week the Chargers and the Bills both got the L in their respective games, but I think the Chargers are the stronger team in this matchup. The Bills already had to adjust their QB plan and that could still be a struggle this Sunday in Buffalo.
Jason Reed (1-0): 30-10, Chargers
I can’t really add much to what everyone else already said. Despite missing Joey Bosa and laying an egg last week, this Los Angeles Chargers defense is unforgiving and the Bills do not have any playmakers to make the Chargers pay.
I hope to see Melvin Gordon on a longer leash and get to 20-25 carries, at least, in the game. He was great in Week 1 but did not get a full chance to shine on the ground.
