The Los Angeles Dodgers had a definitive 8-2 win over the Colorado Rockies on Monday and look to continue that offensive momentum with Clayton Kershaw on the bump on Tuesday.

The Los Angeles Dodgers had arguably the biggest win of the season thus far in an 8-2 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Monday.

With 11 games remaining, the Dodgers are sure to trump this win in terms of value. However, this win is the biggest of the year thus far and has put the Dodgers back in first place in the NL West by half a game.

The Dodgers walked away with a huge 8-2 victory that was never really in question. Two runs in the first and four runs in the third essentially put the game away. Two more in the fourth put the nail in the coffin.

The reason this win was so huge, aside from it being part of what should be a stressful first place battle, it put the Dodgers in a great spot to rack up some momentum.

LA has Clayton Kershaw going Tuesday and Walker Buehler going on Wednesday. Those two elite arms gives the Dodgers a great chance to sweep the Rockies and a near guarantee to at least win the series two games to one.

Following this series, the Dodgers have a three-game home stand against the Padres, which should be easy, before sending the best arms against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Los Angeles then finishes the season in San Francisco. Sweeping the Rockies and moving to a 2.5 game lead, while they have to finish the season against the Arizona, Philadelphia and Washington, is huge.

Clayton Kershaw is no stranger to dealing against the Rockies at home but is still going to need run support. Kershaw is undefeated when the Dodgers offer up four or more runs of support.

Here is who we think will provide that offense as part of our Los Angeles Dodgers Beat the Streak series.

Sarah’s pick – Current streak 0: Max Muncy

My pick for tonight is Max Muncy.

Muncy hit a massive no-doubter last night and I think he’s going to continue raking against the Rockies tonight. Speaking of last night, it was a huge win for the Boys in Blue, one that put them back in first place.

With Kershaw on the mound tonight, this lineup hopefully won’t need to provide tons of run support but you never know when it comes to a lineup in which Nolan Arenado is a part of.

In order to win tonight, the Dodgers need to provide their ace with some support (statistically, 4 runs or more tends to do the trick) and I think Muncy will be one of the guys to do it.

Jason’s pick – Current streak 6: Justin Turner

I am finally building up some steam with my Los Angeles Dodgers Beat the Streak selections and hopefully I can ride this hot streak until the end of the season to escape with the longest streak of the year here at LA Sports Hub.

To give myself an even week of hits I am going with what should be a guarantee in Justin Turner. Not only is Turner the best hitter on the Dodgers and arguably the best hitter in the MLB over the last month, he absolutely dominates Kyle Freeland.

Turner has 20 at-bats against the southpaw in his career and has 11 hits, three doubles, a triple and two RBIs. Twenty at-bats is a substantial sample size that indicates that Turner should have at least one base knock today.

Freeland is the Rockies’ ace and having a good offensive day against him may be a huge shot at the Rockies’ confidence. If that ends up happening, Justin Turner will be a huge part of the fun.
