The superstar rumors will not stop surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers until the team adds a second star alongside LeBron James. That star: Anthony Davis.

The Los Angeles Lakers are going to be evaluating the NBA and what the team needs for the next few moves while also planning out the future course of action.

Prior to this summer, the dream scenario for the Los Angeles Lakers was to land at least two superstars in the summer to start building a team to dethrone the Golden State Warriors. At one point, the idea of landing LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George all on the same team was presented.

That certainly would have created a team that was good enough to beat the Warriors and may have challenged for the most talented team in NBA history.

However, that obviously did not happen and instead, the Los Angeles Lakers just signed LeBron James to a four-year, $154 million deal.

That is so small signing for the Lakers but it does still leave the team a piece or two away from being good enough to beat the Warriors in the West. With that in mind, the Lakers kept cap flexibility for next summer to bring in LeBron’s next partner.

However, the Lakers seem to be striking out on every star that has been connected to the team, aside from James, of course. There are still multiple options available, one of which being Anthony Davis, who is now the frontrunner to be James’ running mate.
