Los Angeles Dodgers: The three-step guide to defeating the Atlanta Braves
By Jason Reed
The Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves will run it back from 2013 in the NLDS with the Dodgers being the favorites and owning home-field advantage.
Last time the Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves played in a postseason game, Juan Uribe blasted a two-run home run just down the left-field line in the eighth inning to give the Dodgers the lead and eventual series win.
This time, five years later, both sides boast vastly different rosters and will meet again in the NLDS. For the Dodgers, only Clayton Kershaw, Kenley Jansen, Hyun-Jin Ryu and Yasiel Puig remain. For the Braves, only Freddie Freeman and Julio Teheran remain.
This will be a fun series to watch as it pins the postseason’s most experienced team against its most inexperienced team. The experience should give the Dodgers the edge to play more comfortably in big games. However, the adrenaline that the Braves possess could easily fire the team out of the gate.
Regardless, I would not take the Atlanta Braves for granted and I do expect this series to go at least four games, no matter who ends up on the winning side.
Hopefully, it can be the Dodgers, who have the talent and depth to make another World Series run and even win it. It all starts with getting past the NL West and here is what the Dodgers should look to do to make it as easy as possible.
