2. Anthony Davis’ relationship with LeBron James

Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh both had great relationships with LeBron James and that led to the Miami Heat banding together to win two championships. LeBron James seemingly started a good relationship with Kyrie Irving before coming back to Cleveland.

James and Anthony Davis seem to have a great relationship and mutual respect for each other. While we do not know exactly how the two view each other, we can go with what we have seen and what has happened in the past.

Two All-Star Game moments stick out like a sore thumb to me. And yes, I know this is a bit trivial, but I have noticed that LeBron is a man of trends. That is why everyone knew he was going to be a Laker a year before he made the commitment.

When Kyrie Irving won his All-Star Game MVP in 2014, James was one of the first people to emphatically cheer him on and was the one that reminded Irving to hold the trophy over his head. A small moment, yes, but James and Irving obviously connected that weekend.

Meanwhile, Davis was LeBron’s second pick in this year’s captain draft and seemed to have that same connection with James during the weekend itself. Most of these superstars get along and have fun but LeBron’s interactions with Davis stuck out more than others.

At the time, nobody really thought of the interaction with Irving as anything more than friendly respect. During the 2018 All-Star Game, nobody was looking at LeBron’s connection with Davis under a fine microscope.

However, when Davis does eventually join the Lakers, the connection between the two moments will be made.
