The Anaheim Ducks aim for their fourth straight win to start the season as they square off against a winless Arizona Coyotes squad that has yet to score a goal in its first two games of the season.

Fresh off a 3-2 shootout victory against the rebuilding Detroit Red Wings, the Anaheim Ducks continue their brief two-game homestand. With wins in both of their road games and their home opener, the Ducks have six points and were the first team to win three games this season.

Ducks’ goaltender John Gibson was great in goal, making 21 saves and stopping all three shots in the shootout. Right winger Jakob Silfverberg and Hampus Lindholm scored for the Ducks while youngster Troy Terry provided the only goal in the shootout to give Anaheim the victory.

The Coyotes faced the Ducks this past Saturday where the Ducks escaped with a 1-0 victory on the back of Gibson’s 41 saves. Anaheim put themselves into a desperate situation, taking 2 penalties in the final 2 minutes to make things interesting.

Though the Coyotes could not score on the two-man advantage, they definitely looked dangerous.

The Ducks enter today’s game with a series of injuries. They several injuries dealt to their forwards. Corey Perry (MCL/knee surgery), Ryan Kesler (hip), Patrick Eaves (post-viral syndrome) and Ondrej Kase (concussion) have been out for the first two games.

Captain Ryan Getzlaf also suffered a lower-body injury late in their previous matchup with Coyotes. It’s unknown if he will play tonight.
