Los Angeles Dodgers: What LA needs to do to defeat the Brewers
By Jason Reed
The Los Angeles Dodgers will be playing in the National League Championship series for the third straight year against a new foe in the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs met in both the 2016 and 2017 NLCS. In 2016, the Cubs walked away with a series win in six games and went on to defeat the Cleveland Indians in seven games in the World Series. In 2017, the Dodgers defeated the Cubs in five games before losing in seven games to the Houston Astros.
In 2018, the Dodgers return to the NLCS to face the team that bested the Cubs in the National League Central, the Milwaukee Brewers. This is only the third time in franchise history that the Brewers are in the League Championship series. Milwaukee is looking to advance to its first World Series since 1982.
Despite the Brewers lacking playoff success in the past, they stand a true challenge for the Dodgers. Milwaukee has not lost a game since September 22 and has two World Series winners in Lorenzo Cain and Mike Moustakas on the roster.
However, the Brewers are far from unbeatable. If the Los Angeles Dodgers can do the right things, the team can advance to its second straight World Series.
It is not going to be easy. Yet still, the Dodgers have the advantage in terms of experience and arguably have a better all-around roster as well.
Los Angeles did exactly what it needed to do to defeat the Atlanta Braves in the NLDS. Here is what the team should look to do against the Milwaukee Brewers.
