LeBron James played his first game against the Golden State Warriors as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers and walked out victorious.

The Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors gave NBA fans the first preview on what should be the NBA’s most entertaining rivalry on Wednesday night. LeBron James and the Lakers walked out of the preseason game victorious, winning by a tally of 123-113.

Being the second to last preseason game, we saw more of the starters and impact players in this game than we have seen in the previous preseason games. Both sides had impact players spend quality minutes on the court and we got the first real look at how the Lakers offense might be this season.

That is because of the return of Lonzo Ball, who had not yet played in any preseason games and has not seen any NBA action since March 28. Ball and LeBron spent the court together for the first time in front of the fans and delivered.

Preseason games are tricky. While you do get to see the impact players play together and how they might gel this season, you risk overreacting to a game that in the end, does not really matter.

Neither team played as hard as they could have and preseason games are not a complete indication of what will happen this season. However, this game, more than the rest of the preseason games, taught us a lot about the 2018-2019 Los Angeles Lakers.
