Anthony Davis has sparked Los Angeles Lakers rumors with his recent decisions, with LA being one of the potential new homes for the superstar big man.

Following in the trail of Paul George, Kawhi Leonard and new Laker, LeBron James, superstar big man Anthony Davis has found himself front and center in a myriad of Los Angeles Lakers rumors.

The Lakers rumors around Davis all stem from his decision to change agencies from his long-time agent to Rich Paul of Klutch Sports — who also represents LeBron James.

To be fair, the media has blown this move a bit out of proportion. Players switch agencies all the time and there are tons of players represented by Klutch Sports that have never shared a minute on the court as a teammate of LeBron James.

However, when considering the timing of the move alongside the Lakers’ current needs, well, it seems to make too much sense to not happen.

While there are certainly off-court things that an agent takes care of, Davis is not even close to a contract year. This move comes right after the Lakers get LeBron James and need to add another superstar; also allowing Julius Randle to walk to the New Orleans Pelicans, despite having a need at center.

Davis would be the best logistical fit as the Lakers have depth elsewhere and would be the best overall player the team could acquire. Davis signing with Klutch Sports at least opens that door far wider than it was previously.

Davis has refuted the rumors, claiming that all he wants to do is win to cement his legacy in the league (h/t Abhinav Kini, IBT). The only problem is that the Pelicans are far away from competing for an NBA Championship, which as in turn, connected Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics and New York Knicks.

The Lakers and Celtics present the best options to win now and the Knicks, with Kristaps Porzingis and cap space, would create their own big three.

However, the Lakers are still the best destination for Davis among these three options. Here is why.
