Los Angeles Chargers: Staff predictions for Chargers-Browns
By Jason Reed
The Los Angeles Chargers and Cleveland Browns are squaring off for the third time in three years, with this matchup being much different.
Before the season, the Los Angeles Chargers and Cleveland Browns matchup in Week 6 may have looked like one of the worst to watch. Now, this is going to be one of the most fun games to watch this week and will be an interesting test for both sides.
The Chargers and Browns have played in the last two seasons and have split the games. Los Angeles took care of business at home last year while the Browns last win, prior to this season, was against the Chargers in 2016.
These Browns are not the same old Browns and have been one of the most interesting teams in the league. Standing at 2-2-1, the Browns have been in all five games this season and are just a few plays away from being 5-0.
Meanwhile, the Chargers are one of the most explosive teams in the league and will be a nice test for a solid Browns defense.
This game is going to be very fun to watch no matter which way it goes. Here are our predictions for the Chargers-Browns Week 6 matchup.
Jamaal Artis (6-0): 24-13, Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers have steadily improved and find themselves on a two-game winning streak; they go on the road to Cleveland. This feels like it could be a trap game, the Browns defense is good enough to keep them in the game but the Chargers will pull away.
Jeremy Bezich (7-0): 24-20, Cleveland Browns
Do we know who the Chargers are yet? They beat the teams they are supposed to and lost to the Rams and Chiefs. The talent is there but this will be a telling game for the rest of the season. Baker and the Browns take care of business at home.
Lamarr Fields (6-1): 24-20, Los Angeles Chargers
I really think this game could go either way but I got Philip RIvers coming up with a game-winning touchdown drive under two minutes.
Redan Lopez (5-0): 20-17, Cleveland Browns
This game looks like a trap game for the Chargers. The Browns are one of the best defensive teams in the league and number one in takeaways.
Chargers Quarterback Phillip Rivers has a habit of turning the ball over and this game will be no different. He will turn the ball over twice. The Browns will just have enough offense to overcome a questionable Chargers defense and capitalize on Rivers’ turnovers.
Can’t believe I’m saying this but the Browns will win and have their first two-game win streak in forever.
Sarah Maninger (4-0): 24-21, Los Angeles Chargers
This game is bound to be interesting, as it brings together two teams who have been average all season long. It also brings together a rookie QB in Baker Mayfield and a veteran QB in Philip Rivers. Though both teams may struggle in this one, I believe it’ll be the Chargers to come out on top.
Jason Reed (4-2): 31-10, Los Angeles Chargers
That is right. Not only do I think the Los Angeles Chargers are going to win this game, I think the team is going to do it in convincing fashion.
I get that the Browns had a great defense but the Chargers have so many weapons that the youth on the defensive side is going to have problems keeping up. The Chargers have been in the 20s all season long and are yet to play a great offensive game.
This will not be the team’s best offensive showing all year but it will be the best so far. I think there will even be a big defensive play that swings the tide, maybe a pick-six for Derwin James.
I have been rooting for the Browns to win all season because it is a great ffeel-goodstory. This week, I put that aside and predict the Chargers to win by three scores.
