The Los Angeles Lakers are one of the most intriguing teams in the NBA this season. With that intrigue are some naturally intriguing storylines as well.
The Los Angeles Lakers are going to be one of the most entertaining teams to watch and cover during the 2018-2019 season.
Perhaps no other team in the NBA has undergone as drastic of a change as the Lakers did over the offseason and will present such a difference in results than the Lakers will from the last five years to this season.
This, of course, is led by the massive signing of LeBron James, who alone makes the Los Angeles Lakers a legitimate contender. However, the front office also brought in a slew of veterans on one-year deals to fill out the bench and to bring a completely different talent outlook from a year ago.
Mix that in with the fact that James makes players better and the Lakers’ young core is naturally going to get better with another offseason of hard work. The range of success for this team is one of the largest in the league; Dan Devine of The Ringer regards the Lakers as one of the NBA’s high-variance teams.
And he is completely right. The Lakers could be in the mid-40s and finish in the bottom tier of the Western Conference. However, knowing LeBron, the team could easily far exceed expectations and finish as the third or even second seed.
