LeBron James’ first season on the Los Angeles Lakers is nearly underway and will begin on the road against the Portland Trail Blazers.

It has been a long summer since fans have been able to watch the Los Angeles Lakers in games that actually mean something. With the NBA season in full swing, and the Lakers season set to start tonight, it is a very exciting time for all basketball fans.

The Los Angeles Lakers are going to be one of the most exciting teams to watch in the NBA this season. There is no doubt that there is going to be a massive nationwide audience on the Lakers for the first regular season game with LeBron James on the roster.

The game will be nationally broadcasted on TNT, as most of the Lakers’ games this season are nationally broadcasted. The Lakers naturally always get a ton of primetime slots; adding LeBron to that equation made it even more extreme.

Thus, the Lakers really need to get off on the right foot and prove to the nation that this is a team that should not be messed with. While winning or losing the first game of the year shouldn’t have a big effect on the NBA Playoffs, it would be a great win to get the ball rolling in LA.

Thursday night is going to be fun. There is no playoff baseball, no LA teams playing in Thursday Night Football. We have just the Lakers to look forward to.
