3. Capitalize on the deep reliever free agent market

The free agent pool for relievers this year is one of the deepest in recent memory and the Los Angeles Angels cannot afford to let that by without adding someone. While the Angels bullpen was not terrible last season, they were right around league average and certainly can improve.

It does not even have to be a big name like Zach Britton, who is pictured above. There are so many options that the Angels can pick up a respectable name for relatively cheap. One thing that can always improve is the pen.

Someone like Kelvin Herrera could be a nice risk to take. Herrera missed the last six weeks of the season with a foot injury but will be ready in time for Spring Training. Herrera was dominant in the American League last season, tossing a 1.05 ERA with the Royals before being traded to the Nationals.

Jeurys Familia is another arm that could help the Angels bullpen. Even if you go farther down the list, guys like Shawn Kelley, Adam Warren, Brad Barch and Tyler Clippard will all be available.

These guys certainly won’t hurt the bullpen and at the very least will add depth to the bullpen. Cannot go wrong with that move.
