Loser: Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk

With both Rajon Rondo and Brandon Ingram out of the game, we expected rookie sharpshooter Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk to see some playing time on Monday night. Not only did he see some playing time, but Mykhailiuk also managed to see the floor for 17 minutes in what was his NBA debut.

Mykhailiuk has been hyped up and has turned into a bit of an internet sensation, similar to the dynamic Boban Marjanovic has with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Despite not even playing an NBA game yet, Lakers fans are already excited to watch Mykhailiuk knock down countless threes and become the Lakers’ sharpshooter. He looked really good in the Summer League and showed glimpses of greatness in the preseason.

On Monday night, despite getting 17 minutes, he looked like a dud.

Mykhailiuk got the second-most minutes off the bench along with Lance Stephenson behind the 37 minutes that Josh Hart played. Mykhailiuk shot the ball twice, both three-point shots and missed both.

It was not a completely ineffective game as he did haul in two rebounds to go along with three assists but he also had two turnovers. Not a great game for the rookie in his NBA debut.
