1. The defense has done a decent job without Joey Bosa

Has the Los Angeles Chargers’ defense been as good as it could have been? No. That is what happens when you lose both Jason Verrett and Joey Bosa, two of the biggest playmakers when they are on the field.

However, the Chargers have overcome these injuries and have not been half bad on the defensive side of the ball. While the team has not been dominant, they have been good enough to get the offense on the field to score. Plus, in today’s NFL with the new rule changes, it is hard for a defense to dominate.

Melvin Ingram has been good in Bosa’s absence on the defensive line; Bosa’s right-hand man has recorded three and a half sacks, five tackles for loss and has hit the quarterback 11 times. He has an interception in the end zone that saved a score and three passed tips, one of which coming against the Titans, which again, saved a score.

The Chargers are right around league average with 362.3 yards allowed per game and have allowed the 12th-fewest points per game (23.3).

Definitely not great numbers but for a defense that is missing its best player, it is not bad either.
