The Los Angeles Dodgers are down in the same 0-1 hole that the team was in during the NLCS with an 8-4 loss against the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night.

The Los Angeles Dodgers were unable to steal a game in Boston in Game 1 of the 2018 World Series and have fallen behind for the second straight playoff round. The Dodgers are not in concern mode yet, as both teams were down 0-1 in the LCS and the Dodgers won Game 1 of the World Series last year before falling in seven games.

This does not mean the Dodgers will repeat; the team could lose Tuesday night and fall to a 0-2 hole, something that is very hard to come out of. All the Dodgers need to do is steal Game 2 in Boston, win at least two in LA and give themselves a chance to win it all in Boston.

Winning all three in LA would be nice, too.

The 8-4 final score is a bit misleading as this game was a back and forth contest that was blown open with a late three-run home run. Although the Dodgers never finished an inning tied or with the lead, the team continued to battle back and had the momentum going into the eighth and ninth inning.

That was until the home run happened and sucked the life out of the Dodgers.

We need the Dodgers to play the same kind of game on Tuesday, minus some mistakes. It is not the time to let that game affect the morale and get in a hitting slump. It is time to respond and send this series back to LA tied.

Here are our positive and negative takeaways from Game 1.
