The Los Angeles Dodgers were unable to steal a win on the road in Boston and are now coming back to LA in a pivotal, must-win, Game 3.

The Los Angeles Dodgers were not expecting to come back to LA with a 2-0 lead in the World Series. All the Dodgers wanted to do as the road team in the 2018 World Series was win one game on the road at Fenway Park.

Like the team did in Milwaukee, this would set LA up nicely with three consecutive home games. Winning one of the first two in Boston would give LA home field advantage for the rest of the series.

The Boston Red Sox’ ultimate goal was to win both games at home and that is exactly what the team did. Boston escaped with an 8-4 and 4-2 win, both games much closer than the scores indicate. You could arguably change one thing about each game and it would be 2-0 Dodgers.

Now the Dodgers have a must-win in LA similar to the 2-1 must-win the team had in the NLCS. The Dodgers came out victorious in that one and won the final game at Dodger Stadium to take a 3-2 series lead back to Milwaukee.

That is exactly what the Dodgers need to do here. It is a lofty goal, but losing both in Boston made this goal a necessity. The Boys in Blue cannot take the risk of taking a 3-2 deficit back to Boston. Instead, the Dodgers need to be up 3-2.

It all starts with a win in Game 3. If the Dodgers lose this game and fall down 3-0, the series is essentially over.

Here is what the Los Angeles Dodgers need to do to escape victorious.
