The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired Manny Machado knowing that it would likely be a half-season rental and that sentiment has grown even stronger.

The Los Angeles Dodgers only goal is to win the World Series. Even start shortstop Corey Seager going down with Tommy John Surgery was not going to stop the team from doing everything it can to make another World Series push.

Thus, when superstar shortstop Manny Machado became available on the market, the Los Angeles Dodgers became front-runners. With a deep farm system and a legitimate need for a half-season rental, the Dodgers were the perfect trade partners for the Baltimore Orioles.

Los Angeles sent five prospects to Baltimore, headlined by Yusniel Diaz. Although Diaz and some of the other guys in the package have promise, this return was relatively small when considering who the Dodgers received.

That is because it was a common understanding that Machado would not be a Dodger past 2018. After a lackluster October that brought out the worst possible things about Machado, the chances of him staying in LA seem even smaller.

There are those fans that want to see Machado return and I have personally heard quite a few call for Machado over Seager. However, the fact of the matter is that Seager is the rightful center of the franchise moving forward and Machado is not worth his hefty asking price.

There are teams out there that will pay Machado what he wants in free agency, though. Here are the five most likely teams to bring in Machado this winter.
