The Los Angeles Rams’ perfect season is no more as the team has finally been handed defeat by the other elite team in the NFC, the New Orleans Saints.

The Los Angeles Rams and New Orleans Saints squared off in the most anticipated game of the entire 2018-2019 NFL season. Los Angeles and New Orleans and far and away the two best teams in the NFC and the Week 9 matchup served as a potential preview to the NFC Championship Game.

Everyone expected this game to be high scoring and that is exactly what it was as the two sides scored a combined 80 points in the contest. At the end of the day, it was the Saints that walked away victorious, handing the Rams the team’s first loss in the process.

This is going to shuffle all the NFL power rankings as the Saints can make the legitimate case at being the best team in the NFL. Rounding up the rest of the top five are the Rams, Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots and Los Angeles Chargers.

That is an elite group of teams and if the Rams and Saints played each other 100 times I think the Rams would win 50 and the Saints would win 50. These are two juggernauts that beat up on the rest of the league; on Sunday, the Saints got the edge.

This game could have been much different than it was, especially considering the Rams had all the momentum in the second half after cutting a 21-point deficit. Take away these three things and the Rams could have walked out with a huge statement win.
