As LeBron James first year with the Los Angeles Lakers has unfolded it has become clear: Nobody on this roster is safe from trade discussions.

Everyone knew that the Los Angeles Lakers were looking to add two superstars even before the team struck gold on LeBron James in the offseason. Even after that signing, everyone knew that the team would be willing to make a trade if the front office was unsure of signing a star next summer.

The thing that was unclear is what star would be on the move. The Lakers have three valuable young trade chips in Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Kyle Kuzma. And while Brandon Ingram is arguably the best of the bunch, he has emerged as the most likely to be traded, at least in theory.

There is a good chunk of the fanbase that has a dislike for Lonzo Ball and would like to see him get dealt. However, because of Ingram’s value and his fit on the Lakers, it seems like he is going to be the one that packs his bags.

With Bradley Beal reportedly on the market, the idea of trading Ingram for Beal straight up (probably with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope so it is actually possible) has emerged as a potential outcome.

However, Ingram simply has too much value for a straight up trade for Beal, who is a borderline all-star but is not a true second star on a title-winning team, especially in today’s NBA.

There are few players that deserve an Ingram return but there are some. Here are two players that are worth trading Brandon Ingram for that actually could realistically be on the trade block in the next year.

That means no absurd inclusions like Stephen Curry, James Harden or Giannis Antetokounmpo. You get the picture.
