1. Noah Syndergaard

Is this one going to happen? Probably not. If the New York Mets are trying to contend for the World Series in 2019, chances are that the team is going to be unwilling to move on from Noah Syndergaard.

However, this is more than just a far-fetched fantasy idea due to the Mets’ potential willingness to trade Syndergaard. Buster Olney of ESPN (subscription required) stated that the Mets would be willing to move Syndergaard if the price was right.

Puig would move the needle towards that price being right as he is an established, big league talent that could help the team in an area of need. Puig would not be the only piece, though.

The Dodgers would likely also have to send a big league arm in return, likely Alex Wood, to at least fill out that spot in the rotation. Alongside those two players, the Dodgers would undoubtedly have to include top pitching prospect Dustin May, big league ready corner infielder Edwin Rios and catching prospect Will Smith.

I am not entirely sure if that would be enough for the Mets and I definitely would not pay more than that for Syndergaard. However, if that offer was enough, I would send it in a heartbeat.

Syndergaard has been leaped over by Jacob DeGrom in terms of the team’s ace but the hard-throwing right-hander still has some of the nastiest stuff in the game and would give the Dodgers another potential Cy Young candidate.
