1. Trevor Ariza

Well, this one is the most obvious because the Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly already interested in acquiring Trevor Ariza from the Phoenix Suns.

The most likely scenario seems to be the Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns including a third team on the trade to give everyone what they need. The Lakers can send Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and a second-round pick to a team that can send a point guard to Phoenix who can send Ariza to LA.

The Lakers could use Ariza and the Suns definitely need a point guard, particularly one that is young that the team can build around in the future.

Acquiring Ariza is an obvious upgrade from what the Lakers currently have in Caldwell-Pope with Ariza likely having a massive impact in LA. Ariza is known for his defensive abilities and was one of the glue pieces on the Houston Rockets last season that allowed them to almost defeat the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals.

Having Ariza come off the bench or even start at the two or the three would be a big piece come playoff time when defensive stops really matter. He is a better version of KCP in every regard and, despite being just a role player, does increase the Lakers’ chances of winning a title.

I think this deal is going to happen no matter what. Ariza is such a good fit on the Lakers and should be traded to the team as soon as possible.
