1. Cleveland Indians

It is pretty ironic that Yasiel Puig is connected to the Cleveland Indians after Puig flipped off fans at Progressive Field in 2017 after blasting a home run. I wonder what kind of reception he would get when he is announced as the starting right fielder for the very first time.

The Cleveland Indians are the team with the strongest connection to the Wild Horse as a potential piece in a trade for Corey Kluber. The Indians are looking to dip into the Dodgers’ outfield depth in return for starting pitching, with Kluber being the focus of trade talks.

Puig would be a nice, proven piece for the Indians to go after. There would be no risk of bringing in a young outfielder and the team, who has already freed up money this winter, could be looking to lock him down to an extension this winter.

I don’t have to sit here and tell you why Puig deserves an extension. If you are a Dodger fan, you know what he brings to the table.

The only potential road bump in this deal is that the Indians might be more interested in the Dodgers’ top prospect, Alex Verdugo. Verdugo is young and would be under control through the 2023 season.

If the Dodgers were to trade Verdugo then they likely wouldn’t trade Puig.
