1. Keenan Allen

It feels like it has been forever since we have seen a big game out of Keenan Allen, who is normally Philip Rivers‘ go-to option in the passing game and has proven to be an elite wide receiver.

It is not entirely Allen’s fault as he did get hurt in the team’s Week 15 game against the Kansas City Chiefs and came up against two great pass-rushing teams in the Baltimore Ravens (twice) and the Denver Broncos.

Allen’s last great game came against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Allen was targeted 19 times in the contest, making 14 receptions for 148 yards and a touchdown. That game marked his fifth consecutive game with a touchdown.

With the added weapons in the Chargers’ passing attack, Allen has had an overall down year production wise, although he is still the team’s top receiver and a huge threat.

The Chargers likely won’t be throwing the ball a ton in the snow in New England but Allen is going to be targeted plenty. Because of the snow, Rivers is going to be consistently looking at his best target, who is likely going to tear the Patriots’ secondary up with his pure size and athleticism.

The last few games have been a struggle for the Chargers in passing the ball because of the defenses the team has faced. Los Angeles is finally getting a break and is going to rely on the athleticism advantage on slants and out routes which will produce plenty of yards after the catch.

I am expecting at least seven receptions for 100 yards and a touchdown out of Keenan Allen on Sunday.
