The Los Angeles Rams are looking to head to the team’s first Super Bowl since 1979 while in the city of Los Angeles and must go through the New Orleans Saints.

Although it seems like it was an eternity ago, the Los Angeles Rams do have a Super Bowl under their wing in the last 20 years, 19 years ago to be exact.

The Rams were the Super Bowl Champions of the 1999 season (game being played in 2000) and followed up with another appearance in 2002, when they lost to the New England Patriots.

The Rams were in St. Louis for both of those appearances and have not made the Super Bowl while being the “Los Angeles Rams” since the 1979 season. The team lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Standing in the Rams’ way is the first-seeded New Orleans Saints, who handed the Rams their first loss of the season in Week 9. With this game being on the road, it certainly will be a challenge for the Rams.

Drew Brees and the Saints are no pushovers and the Rams are going to have to play their best football to get the job done. Here is how the staff here at LA Sports Hub sees the game going, in what could be our last predictions of the season.

Jamaal Artis (20-10): 27-24, New Orleans Saints

The Rams have a chance for redemption, they can beat the New Orleans Saints and pay them back for their first loss back in Week 9. A win will take them to the Super Bowl and perhaps ignite a nascent dynasty.

Lose and it’s another year lost closing the window on their potential talent. The Rams better hope that they will get a better defensive effort than the last time when they gave up 45 points. Even with a better game, I feel the Saints will prevail due to home field advantage and the Rams terrible secondary.

Redan Lopez (24-8): 27-24, Los Angeles Rams

As much as the last game between these two teams earlier in the season was an offensive show, this game will be more defensive. I think the defenses steal the show.

The quarterback play will be even, but I think Rams Quarterback Jared Goff and the running game will do enough to squeak by the Saints on the road. Rams’ Running backs Todd Gurley and C.J. Anderson will not be as
dominant as they were against the Cowboys, but they will allow the Rams to retain possession enough to keep Saints Quarterback Drew Brees off the field.

The Rams will make sure that their offseason moves will pay off and earn a trip to the Super Bowl.

Jason Reed (29-5): 28-20, Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams are entering this game as the underdogs and really should not be. While the team has shown cracks in the armor at the end of the season, they are still the best and most talented team in the NFL.

The one reason why the Rams will defeat the Saints. dark. Next

I have written quite a few articles on why the Rams will win this game, including the one linked above. Rams get the job done with a pair of touchdowns from Jared Goff and a touchdown each from Todd Gurley and C.J. Anderson.
