2. Justin Turner wins the batting title

The thing that makes Justin Turner so great, aside from his beard, is his ability to stay locked in in any count and constantly put the ball in play. All the other things, the power and the ability to somehow always be clutch, would not come with that kind of control of the plate in the batters’ box.

Turner truly has one of the best eyes in the game and is very selective in what he swings at during his at-bats. When Turner does fall behind in the count, he gets into attack mode; swinging at anything that is close to the plate and oftentimes fouling off countless two-strike pitches before he or the pitcher makes a mistake.

Usually, it is the pitcher. This patient approach and knowledge at the plate is what has led Turner to have a .305 batting average and .856 as a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Turner always goes on these monster runs where he will be hitting over .400 for a span of a few weeks but does eventually cool off and always usually sits above the .300 line.

In 2019, we are going to see Turner’s ability to get on base on full display as he is going to have the best season of his career and set a career-high in batting average. Turner hit a whopping .356 in the second half to overcome a slow start, which was because of his broken wrist. Just imagine what he can do in a full, healthy, season.
