The parallels between Jared Goff and Tom Brady

Jared Goff and Tom Brady do not seem to share any parallels at this stage in their careers. Heck, even the path to being a starter is so vastly for the two quarterbacks that you would think there is nothing the two quarterbacks share in common.

Goff was the first overall pick that the Los Angeles Rams traded several draft picks to move up and snag. While he did have a disappointing rookie season, Goff has always been expected to be a starting quarterback.

Brady, on the other hand, was drafted in the sixth-round and by all accounts was a throwaway pick. When he took over starting duties for Drew Bledsoe he was not expected to do anything with it. And well, we all know how that turned out.

However, Goff in his third year is in a very similar position as Brady was when he won his first Super Bowl against the Los Angeles Rams 17 years ago.

Brady was in his second season when he won his first Super Bowl, Goff is in his third. Brady was a ripe 24-years-old, Goff a ripe 24-years-old.

Heck, both quarterbacks even have roots around the Bay Area. While Jared Goff has a long way to go before he is even in the conversation with Tom Brady, beating the greatest of all-time could launch a career that ends up being similar.
