The parallels between the Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots

The parallels between Sean McVay and Bill Belichick
Probably the most interesting part of this Super Bowl matchup and the reason why the game itself is going to be so great is because of the head coaching chess match between Bill Belichick and Sean McVay. McVay and Belichick could not be any more different in their backgrounds but are both great football minds that put their teams in this situation to win.
Belichick is exactly twice McVay’s age and was the defensive coordinator of the New York Giants under Bill Parcells when McVay was born. Belichick is the second-oldest head coach in the game and is probably going to go down as the greatest coach of all-time.
McVay, on the other hand, breaks down all of the standards that are set by coaches like Belichick. The NFL coaching scene is an old man’s game. You need a coach that has experience and moxie if you expect them to control and coach a group of grown men.
McVay completely changed the game when he not only became the youngest head coach in NFL history but proved to be an offensive mastermind. This is the same guy that turned Jared Goff from a bust candidate to a Pro Bowler; the same guy that turned the 4-12 Rams to a playoff team and then a Super Bowl team.
While their backgrounds and experience could not be any different, Belichick and McVay are both masters of the game in their own right. Time and time again Belichick has built an effective gameplan to beat whoever stands in front of the Patriots.
Time and time again, McVay is proving that he is not your average NFL coach and that he might be the hardest coach to gameplan for.
Will Belichick’s experience give him the upper hand or will McVay’s lack of experience lead to bolder play calls that end up winning the game? The chess match that goes on in this game is going to be world class.
