Los Angeles Dodgers: Predicting top five home run leaders
By Jason Reed
4. A.J. Pollock – 27 home runs
The newest member of the Los Angeles Dodgers makes our list and will be fourth on the team in home runs. Fourth on the team is pretty low considering that we predict Pollock to finish with 27 home runs, which would be a career high for the former all-star center fielder.
If anything, this indicates that the Los Angeles Dodgers are yet again going to hit a lot of home runs, starting with a career year out of Pollock.
The Dodgers’ powerful approach is going to translate to Pollock, who will see his power numbers increase naturally increase in such a good lineup. With the hitting ideology in Los Angeles, is it the perfect storm for Pollock.
This is also assuming that Pollock can play close to a full season. He has played 112 and 113 games the last two seasons and has hit 14 and 21 home runs, respectively. Across 150 games that would have been 27 home runs for Pollock.
We think we will play fewer than 150 games, meaning he will homer at a more frequent rate in 2018.
