1. Jeremy Lin

The average NBA fan would probably laugh at the idea of the Los Angeles Lakers trading for Jeremy Lin since his fall from grace and his rather lackluster stint on the Lakers. However, with a thin roster and the desire to remain flexible in the next offseason, Lin becomes an obvious target for the Lakers.

Lin is on an expiring contract worth $13.7 million. It is not like the Atlanta Hawks are keeping Lin around to contend as Trae Young is getting the bulk of the minutes and the team is still embracing a rebuild.

Lin’s stats are not the greatest, 10.8 points and 3.6 assists per game, but he is also doing so in just 19.8 minutes per game. In terms of scoring per 36 minutes, this is Lin’s third-best season of his career and is his fourth-best field goal percentage (44.1 percent).

The Hawks really have no reason to keep Lin and are not going to get an astronomical trade return out of him. However, the Los Angeles Lakers can offer an expiring contract in Kentavious Caldwell-Pope alongside a second-round pick for Lin.

It is not the most headline-grabbing trade in the world but it is a nice return for someone who served as a salary dump for Atlanta.
