Los Angeles Dodgers: Players that must be better to win the World Series
By Jason Reed
The Los Angeles Dodgers have fallen short in the World Series the last two seasons and need some players to step up in 2019 to get the job done.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have been the most consistent playoff team over the last six years but still have nothing to show for it besides two second-place trophies. The Dodgers might be back-to-back National League Champions but that does not mean much to the everyday fan.
The everyday fan wants to see a World Series trophy, something the Dodgers have not hoisted since the 1988 season. I was a crisp age of negative ten when that happened.
If we are being honest with ourselves, the Boston Red Sox were the better team in 2018 and it truly was their year. However, the Los Angeles Dodgers were the better team in 2017 and fell short of expectations.
The Dodgers needed some players to step up in 2018 and play better in order to win the World Series. Max Muncy was the only real improvement and that is because he was not even on the team. Everyone else sort of regressed and that is what led to a dogfight for the division all season long.
I am not expecting another 104-win season out of the Los Angeles Dodgers but the team was much better than the record indicated in 2018. In order to get back to that same form, the Dodgers are going to need some players to step up and be better in 2019.
Here are three players that must be better for the Dodgers to win the World Series in 2019.
