Los Angeles Dodgers: Why trading Joc Pederson is the right move
By Jason Reed
The rumors of the Los Angeles Dodgers shopping Joc Pederson have died down but trading Pederson still remains to be the team’s best bet.
The Los Angeles Dodgers already traded two fan-favorite outfielders this offseason in Matt Kemp and Yasiel Puig and it seemed like the team was prepared to trade another. There were heavy speculation and reports that the team was shopping slugging outfielder Joc Pederson that have since died down.
The rumors coincided with reports of the Dodgers being interested in A.J. Pollock. Of course, those reports came to fruition with the Dodgers signing Pollock to a deal shortly after. Nothing has obviously happened surrounding Pederson.
In fact, the speculation has died completely down. Perhaps it is because of the Super Bowl and the constant NBA trade rumors around Anthony Davis but there has not been much on the Dodgers, let alone baseball as a whole.
This does not mean that the front office has given up on finding the right package for Pederson. Of course, the team is not going to trade him away for peanuts but would vastly benefit from finding the right package for the slugging outfielder.
He is young, is cheap and had a great rebound season in 2018. There certainly are teams that are interested or at least should be, which leads us to think that this deal will ultimately happen.
Here are our three reasons why making that move would be the best bet for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
