The Los Angeles Lakers probably will not get the big name in Anthony Davis before the NBA Trade Deadline but that does not stop the Lakers rumors.

The Los Angeles Lakers are not done making trades before the NBA Trade Deadline, even if acquiring Anthony Davis is out of the picture. The New Orleans Pelicans seemingly want the Lakers to outbid themselves and the Lakers would rather wait for the offseason to see if a team can even match the Lakers’ best offer.

Naturally, Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka are not going to let that derail the team from making improvements at the deadline. Hours after it was announced that the Lakers had submitted their final offer for Davis, the team traded for Reggie Bullock.

This is a great trade for the Los Angeles Lakers. Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk has the potential of being a legitimate sharpshooter in the league but is not ready to make an impact. Bullock, on the other hand, is a sharpshooter that gives the Lakers a nice three and D presence.

This also makes it easier to trade Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, something that the Lakers front office was likely already considering.

Caldwell-Pope is on an expiring deal worth $12 million and would best be utilized in a trade that improves the team. With Bullock and Josh Hart now getting the bulk of the minutes at the two, Caldwell-Pope is no longer needed.

The Lakers are not going to get a head-turning return out of KCP but definitely can improve the team’s title chances. Here are three potential trade returns for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
