2. Corey Seager, Cody Bellinger, Walker Buehler and Julio Urias are all still younger than Aaron Judge was in his rookie year

After falling short in two consecutive World Series and not winning it despite making the postseason six years in a row, it is understandable why some Dodger fans would think that the team’s championship window has closed.

Teams rarely sustain success for this long and the fact that the Dodgers have is remarkable. The team already has the third-longest postseason streak in MLB history. Eventual,ly it has to end, right?

Well, despite Clayton Kershaw, Justin Turner and Kenley Jansen all aging, the Los Angeles Dodgers still have a young core that is ready to carry the team for another six years.

The “core four” right now moving forward is Corey Seager, Cody Bellinger, Walker Buehler and Julio Urias. If Alex Verdugo is as good as everyone thinks he is then he can make it a group of five.

Either way, Seager is an MVP candidate, Bellinger has MVP potential and Buehler has already shown that he is ace material. Julio Urias legitimately has Cy Young potential in his prime if he can stay healthy and Verdugo could be this core’s version of Yasiel Puig, just better.

And while we are all familiar with all of these guys they are still very young in baseball terms. Every single one of the players mentioned is younger than Aaron Judge was in his 2017 rookie season.

Everyone still considers Judge to be a young up incomer, why not the Dodgers core? The oldest of the group is Corey Seager, who is ironically one day younger than Judge was in his rookie year. This is a core that hasn’t even begun to scrape the surface of what they are capable of.
