The Los Angeles Lakers opened up a roster spot after trading Ivica Zubac and Michael Beasley and are in the market for a bought out player.

The Los Angeles Lakers made a shocking trade during the NBA Trade Deadline and sent Ivica Zubac and Michael Beasley to the Los Angeles Clippers for Mike Muscala. We have already covered that deal from so many different angles that it is not worth rehashing yet again.

However, the subsequent storyline that emerged after this deal was what the Lakers were going to do with the newfound open roster spot. The team already signed a bought out player in Tyson Chandler earlier in the year and will more than likely do the same as the team gets ready for a playoff run.

The biggest candidate right now seems to be Carmelo Anthony. Anthony has been biding his time, doing nothing in the NBA and he his friendship with LeBron James is well noted. It might not be what Laker fans what, but it might be what Laker fans get.

Personally, I would not mind getting Melo in a vacuum, just because if he ends up being a flop the team can simply bench him and the problem will be solved.

However, with only one roster spot, the Lakers should be inclined to go a totally different direction than Carmelo Anthony.

You have probably read the rumors and speculation already but here are three potential buyout signings (in no particular order) that we think would be much better than Carmelo Anthony.
