Hot Seat

Clay Helton

Clay Helton is still the coach of USC football despite the fact that hardly any USC fan wants him to be. After going 21-6 in his first two full seasons and winning the Rose Bowl it’s safe to say the honeymoon is over.

A 5-7 season that saw them lose to all their California rivals (Stanford, Cal, and UCLA) and Notre Dame this last year despite their talent on paper. A slow start to 2019 and USC fans will want to move on from Helton. You could argue where he is now Helton is probably the coach with the worst job security…except for one.

Hotter than Hades Seat

Luke Walton

Luke Walton’s dream job has started to turn into a nightmare. The hope of the Lakers making it back to the playoffs thanks to signing the greatest player on the planet Lebron James has been eroded by the Lakers poor play as of late.

The Lakers went 6-11 in the 17 games without James thanks to a groin injury sustained on Christmas Day. Instead of coming together as a team and staying in playoff spot the Lakers find themselves on the outside looking in.

Missing the playoffs despite the injuries sustained has been laid at the feet of Walton, it is being predicted that Walton won’t keep the job if the Lakers can’t make the playoffs. For that Walton occupies the hottest seat in So Cal sports.
