2. The New York Knicks are perfect for Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson will stay in Golden State

Kevin Durant‘s impending free agency is such a big topic that even the star forward himself does not want to talk about it with reporters.

Kevin, if you are reading this, I am sorry for bringing this up. Please don’t call me a blog boy.

Regardless of what Durant wants it is a discussion worth having as a top-three player in the NBA and is in the middle of his prime. If Durant was manning the ship himself in Golden State he would have mutliple MVPs now and would likely be putting up unprecedented numbers.

That is why the New York Knicks are great. Durant can get his three rings, go get his payday in New York and even set up things outside of basketball. The team has the money to spend for another max guy and even if they do, a title in New York would completely rid Durant of his current reputation for joining Golden State.

It is just hard to see him wanting to play with an aging LeBron after the criticism from his Warriors move.

That obviously will free up a lot of money, which is where Klay Thompson, another potential Lakers target, comes into play.

Thompson is perfect in Golden State and he and Stephen Curry have the chance to become the greatest backcourt in NBA history if they can win one more ring without Durant.

The Warriors are still an insanely talented team and still should be the favorites in the West with Curry, Thompson and Draymond Green. Thompson will get his money and keep the splash bros intact.
